Yes, I assumed you meant prefix in a general sense (not "subject:" or such), and this form "foo*" is the one which I do not find documented. It is a glob, but most globs are not supported, just "*" and "foo*". That is a point, yes. I haven't tried regex on body terms yet, but I understand performance can make a usability difference here.
