Hmm, Where is $(PWD) make variable documented; I found only $(CURDIR)
anyway, te following test makefile works OK.

all:
        echo $(PWD)
        echo $(CURDIR)

(i.e. both echo the current directory)

If this is not an issue, then LGTM.
