I haven't seen the patch yet, because apparently I lost my subscription
to the notmuch list but hadn't realized that (oops!).

But yes, the settings in .dir-locals.el should definitely match the
conventions of the project.

And also, yes, we should not have two spaces at the end of
sentences. That looks so awful in a fixed-width font. I'm glad that
the younger generations didn't have such a habit driven into them.
