Hello,

today I upgraded notmuch on my system. After that this happened:

$ grep notmuch /var/log/pacman.log| tail -2
[2021-05-07T10:09:55+0200] [ALPM] upgraded notmuch-runtime (0.31.4-2 -> 0.32-1)
[2021-05-07T10:09:55+0200] [ALPM] upgraded notmuch (0.31.4-2 -> 0.32-1)

$ notmuch config get database.path
/home/luig/mail

$ notmuch new
Error: Cannot open database at
/home/luig/.local/share/notmuch/default: No such file or directory.

Is this expected behaviour?

In the release notes I found that XDG locations are now supported as
fallbacks but it seems like notmuch now enforces them.

Have I just overlooked something or is this a bug?
Can I work around that by just symlinking my database?

Jochen
