Thank you David, this resolved my issue. I don't actually remember installing notmuch from MELPA, turns out it was installed as a dependency for notmuch-bookmarks. There doesn't seem to be a way to install notmuch-bookmarks from a package archive without installing the lastest build of notmuch-emacs as well, so I've resorted to just downloading notmuch-bookmarks.el and placing it in ~/.emacs.d. -Karthik David Bremner <david@tethera.net> writes: > Karthik Chikmagalur <karthikchikmagalur@gmail.com> writes: > >> >> My notmuch version (from my distro repo) is 0.32.2, and my notmuch-emacs >> version (from the MELPA repo for Emacs) is 20210805.1158. >> >> Any idea what's going wrong? > > What's going wrong is that MELPA is packaging the development branch of > notmuch-emacs which uses features not in 0.32.2.
